(...) Ivan Passer’s film “Haunted Summer” is not only a beautiful period piece about the interactions of these two radical romantic poets, but is also poetic itself. It imaginatively conjures up the thoughts, words and actions of the characters and successfully seduces us into particupating in their lives. Most importantly, I feel, the film expresses the youthful effervescence of the obsessive love of life shared by a quintette of creative thinkers.
